Hickory Ski Area in Warrensburg, New York has announced it will not be opening for the upcoming ski season.
According to a recent post on the Hickory Facebook page, the ski area has no plans to operate this season.
The owners of the ski area are reportedly working on a new management model that they hope will make Hickory once again a place “for families to gather, friends to connect and kids will learn to ski.”
The news will certainly be disappointing to area skiers after Hickory had reopened in the 2023/24 season and operated several days during the 2024/25 season following being closed since 2016.

Hickory first opened in 1945 and featuers 17 trails and four lifts. It has a vertical drop of 1,200 feet.
According to a report on Unofficial Networks, the ski area is now under new management.
Hickory’s Facebook post stated new details about changes at the ski area will be released in the coming months. The includes construction work on the lodge, plus a new website and social media presence.
According to the post, the ski area is currently closed to public access for hiking, skinning, snowshoeing, disc golf, or camping.
