Ski Resorts Across The Northeast Begin Making Snow

This past weekend was one ski resort operators have been looking forward to since spring.

As temperatures dipped throughout the region, ski resorts across much of the Northeast fired up their snow guns and began making snow.

In Vermont, Killington Resort flipped the switch on more than 175 guns across the mountain.

At Stowe Resort in Stowe, Vermont, the area received a dusting of snow to start the weekend, and resort staff began making snow. Stowe has targeted November 22 for their opening day.

Further north, Jay Peak Resort not only turned on their guns, but they also got some help from Mother Nature, as they received snow over the weekend.

For Whiteface in New York, this weekend marked the earliest start to the snowmaking season in their history.
