Vermont’s Smugglers’ Notch Resort is joining the New Hampshire-based Indy Pass, becoming the 60th new resort to join Indy Pass for the upcoming season.
Indy Pass Director Erik Mogensen announced the “significant addition” on Tuesday morning, September 8, adding the addition gives Indy Pass the capacity to reopen sales to the public for a very short period of time, starting on Tuesday morning. Once capacity is reached, the waitlist process will again be reinstated.
In April, the Indy Pass sold out in just 37 minutes.

In March, Mogensen announced that the company that owns the Indy Pass—an international pass for ski resorts that aren’t owned by a corporate chain—was moving its headquarters from Colorado to Jackson, New Hampshire. Mogensen is the president and CEO of Black Mountain in Jackson, and he is the CEO of Entabeni Systems, the company that owns both the Indy Pass and Black Mountain.
Smuggler’s Notch recently announced it is adding 100 snowmaking guns as part of a series of resort improvements prior to the upcoming ski season.
“Smuggs, Bear Den and Indy share a commitment to independent mountains, families, affordability and protecting the character of the skiing and riding experience,” said Smuggler’s Notch General Manager Brandon Swartz. “We believe this partnership can introduce more people to what makes Smuggs special while preserving the experience our resort guests, passholders and homeowners have valued for generations.”
