Swastikas Spray-Painted at NY Campground

New York officials are investigating an incident of swastikas being spray-painted on rocks at a New York campground.

According to New York Department of Environmental Conservation officials, the caretaker at Ausable Point Campground in Peru, New York reported finding multiple swastikas spray-painted on rocks leading into the campground at 12:35 p.m. on Sunday, October 13.

Forest rangers removed the graffiti and interviewed campground staff. Rangers also forwarded pictures to the Bureau of Environmental Crime Investigations.

DEC officials are requesting anyone with information about this hate crime to call 1-844-DEC-ECOS for 24-hour dispatch.
