A unique event that will feature both mountain bike races and trail running races will take place in Maine in early October.
The first-ever Fall Trail Rally presented by the Outdoor Sport Institute and New England Outdoor Center will be held on Saturday, October 4.
The event will take place at the Hammond Ridge Trail System in Millinocket, Maine, and it will feature four-hour trail races for both mountain bikers and trail runners. Participants can compete solo or as a team of up to four people.
The Trail Rally will also feature trail tours, youth events, games, and a silent auction.

The races will be four-hour timed races with separate routes for trail running and mountain biking. Competitors will aim to complete as many laps as possible in the four-hour time frame.
Top finishers in solo men’s, solo women’s, and team categories for both trail running and mountain biking will take home awards.
The rally is being held to support the Outdoor Sport Institute’s efforts to grow outdoor recreation opportunities in the Katahdin area.
Registration is $35 for a solo participant and $95 for a team, and participants receive a free drink ticket and discounts on food, which will be offered by Knife Edge Brewing, located right where the event is being held.
