A new trailhead and parking lot are being built at a popular climbing destination in New Hampshire.
Mount Forist has become an increasingly popular spot for climbers in Berlin, New Hampshire. It features more than 20 established routes on a cliff that overlooks the city.
Since 2017, local officials have discussed a plan to develop a trailhead and parking lot that would make the area more accessible to climbers.
According to the Androscoggin Community for Transformation, a local environmental conservation group, construction recently began on the trailhead and parking area.
The lot and trailhead are being developed at the west end of Madigan Street near Mount Forist.
