A New Jersey man completed the 740-mile Northern Forest Canoe Trail from New York to Maine on Saturday, finishing the trip in Fort Kent, Maine on his 21st birthday.
According to an article in the Bangor Daily News, Eric McIntyre began his trip on May 14 when he took off from Old Forge, New York, in his 15-foot Daggar Legend canoe. From there he paddled, poled and portaged his way north and east through New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, a small section of Canada and finally into Maine.
