Monday’s epic storm brought widespread flooding and hurricane-force winds to much of the Northeast, damaging trails, melting recent snow, and forcing the closure of many ski resorts for the week.

But the powerful punch from Mother Nature was also a surfer’s dream, kicking up massive waves along the coast.

That was especially true in New Jersey, which had some of the biggest, heaviest waves any surfer’s seen there in decades.

Locally-based filmmakers the NumbSkulls were there to capture this legendary moment in Northeast surfing.
