A new film about skiing Tuckerman Ravine called “The Proving Ground” will debut this Friday. And if the trailer is any indication, it’s going to be awesome.
“The Proving Ground” was created by the film company Warden in partnership with the Mount Washington Avalanche Center.
The new film highlights the often-overlooked dangers of Mount Washington and its famed Tuckerman Ravine. Known as a proving ground for East Coast skiers, come springtime, the mountain draws crowds chasing legacy—but, say the films creators, presence doesn’t always equal preparedness.

The trailer for the film is captivating, featuring people discussing the draw and dangers of skiing Tuckerman, and plenty of clips of frightening carnage.
“The Proving Ground” will premier on YouTube at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 10.

A special in-person screening will take place that evening at Ledge Brewing in Intervale, New Hampshire.
Coincidentally, due to last month’s postponement of the Tuckerman Inferno race, the screening on Friday will take place the evening before the start of this year’s Inferno.
