A hiker was airlifted from the Bondcliff Trail in New Hampshire’s White Mountains on Thursday after suffering a leg injury nearly 7.5 miles from the trailhead.
According to New Hampshire Fish and Game, the solo hiker contacted NH 911 by text shortly before noon on May 28 after he slipped while descending a steep section of trail and became unable to continue hiking. D
ue to the remote location, the New Hampshire Army National Guard assisted with a helicopter rescue operation. Rescuers located the hiker around 1:30 p.m. and transported him to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center where he was evaluated and treated for injury.
