A new trail running festival will debut in one of the most scenic regions of Maine this October.
The inaugural Downeast Trail Festival will take place in Sullivan, Maine—not far from Acadia National Park—on Saturday, October 10.
Presented by Move Free Designs, a New England-based running and outdoor brand, the event will showcase some of the region’s premier trail networks with four race distances: 52K, 17K, 12K, and 6K.
Organized in partnership with the Frenchman Bay Conservancy, the festival provides an opportunity to explore the forested trails and granite outcroppings of Baker Hill Preserve and Long Ledges Preserve, with scenic vistas of nearby peaks and the coastal landscape.
The event is a fundraiser to help the conservancy’s efforts in protecting and caring for local lands and waters. Part of every entry fee will be donated to the Frenchman Bay Conservancy and all participants will be given the opportunity to make an additional donation to the trails when registering.
