“The Proving Ground,” a new film about skiing Tuckerman Ravine, has been released on YouTube, and you can view the film below.

Created by the film company Warden in partnership with the Mount Washington Avalanche Center, the film highlights the often-overlooked dangers of Mount Washington and its famed Tuckerman Ravine.

Known as a proving ground for East Coast skiers, come springtime, the mountain draws crowds chasing legacy—but, say the film’s creators, presence doesn’t always equal preparedness.

Every ski season, Mount Washington sees an average of 25 life-threatening sliding falls, according to the filmmakers. The film explores the dangers of recreating on the mountain that go beyond avalanche risk alone—told through the stories of those who have survived, and those who tragically have not.

The film was directed by Josh Bogardus and produced and co-directed by Dan Dunn. It features Caite Zeliff, Michelle Saltsburg, Jon Miller, Jeff Fongemie, Pat Scanlan, Charlotte MacDonald, Kate Moynihan, and Sarah Boilen.
