A group of Northeast climbers are trying to reopen a once-popular climbing area in Vermont that has been closed for nearly 30 years.

Bolton Dome – formerly known as Trailer Park Crag – was once the center of the climbing scene in the Burlington, Vermont area. But it was closed by a landowner in the late 1980s following conflicts with climbers.

Now, the current landowner is selling the property and has reached out to CRAG-VT to see if the climbing advocacy group would purchase the property.

CRAG-VT officials say they have secured a $350,000 loan, but need to raise an additional $100,000 to cover costs. They hope to raise the funds in time to ensure a 2018 opening of the cliff.
