Two men who went kayaking without life jackets during this weekend’s storm had to be rescued off Cape Cod after one of them capsized.

The Bourne Fire Department reportedly received a call to rescue the men at around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

According to a report on Boston.com, one of the kayakers had flipped their boat, but the two were able to get out of the water and get to Toby’s Island. Neither man was reportedly wearing a life jacket at the time.

Because the area where the two men were is difficult to get to, fire officials considered bringing in a helicopter to rescue the men.

However, fire officials were able to reach the men with an inflatable boat at around 6:40 p.m. and bring them back to shore within 10 minutes.

The two men declined to be taken to a hospital for treatment.
