A 39-year-old woman missing for more than a day from a New Hampshire campground was discovered lying along the side of a powerline access road by hikers Sunday morning.
According to New Hampshire Fish and Game officials, Megan Kelley, 39, of Fall River, Massachusetts, had gone missing from Dolly Copp Campground in Martin’s Location on Saturday morning.
Her family members had posted on Facebook groups that she had last been seen around 6:45 a.m. walking along Pinkham B Road in Gorham, New Hampshire, coming from the Dolly Copp Campground.
Family members also searched a popular hiking trail near the campground, but failed to locate her.
Officials said an investigation failed to determine where Kelley had gone and she was listed as a missing person.
Sunday morning, Fish and Game officials began organizing a search in the vicinity where she was last known to be seen. Resources from New England K9, Andoscoggin Valley Search and Rescue (AVSAR), and a drone team, along with several conservation officers, were called to help search for Kelley.
While rescue teams were arriving, a couple out for a hike up a powerline in the vicinity of a series of mountain biking trails came upon Kelley lying on the side of the access road.
The hikers called 911 and rescue personnel from Gorham Fire and EMS, AVSAR, and conservation officers responded to the scene.
Kelley was reportedly not mobile, so she was placed in a litter and transported out to an awaiting Gorham Ambulance. From there she was transported to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin.
Officials said it is still unknown how Kelley ended up in this particular location, but they said she suffered no life-threatening injuries.
