A hiker who was injured in a fall on Saddleback Mountain in New York was rescued by helicopter last week.
According to New York Department of Environmental Conservation officials, a forest ranger came across the injured hiker on Saddleback Mountain at 10:40 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6.
The hiker had fallen and suffered a dislocated shoulder on the mountain.
The ranger requested New York State Police (NYSP) Aviation, which was approved.
The hoist operator on the helicopter lowered a NYSP medic to splint the subject’s shoulder and prepare the 30-year-old from Quebec for a hoist.
The injured hiker was successfully hoisted into the helicopter and flown to a nearby hospital.
Resources were clear at 12:30 p.m.
