Anyone visiting Massachusetts state parks and beaches over July Fourth Weekend won’t have to pay for parking.
Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey today announced that parking will be free at all Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) properties statewide in recognition of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution from July 3 to 5.
“We want people to enjoy the Fourth of July weekend, especially as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding,” said Healey.
DCR will implement the waiver across its paid parking system, including the Yodel app, pay stations and field staff parking operations. Parking is first come, first served.
High-demand locations may still close when parking lots reach capacity. Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan ahead by visiting the DCR Park Alerts webpage for the most up-to-date information on facility closures.
