MAINE
Acadia Mountain Guides
The granite cliffs rising straight out of the ocean at Acadia National Park offer up some of the most unique climbing in the East. Based in Bar Harbor, the guides at Acadia Mountain Guides Climbing School get to take full advantage of the area’s dramatic climbing opportunities among sea cliffs. The International Mountain Climbing School (IMCS) in North Conway is one of the most established guide services in the region. They do rock and ice climbing, mountaineering, and they offer guided climbing and hiking trips in the Adirondacks and Catskills, as well as the Gunks.
Mountain Skills Climbing Guides
Founded in 1984, Mountain Skills Climbing Guides has been guiding climbers in the Gunks for more than 40 years. They offer instruction in traditional climbing, anchors, and multi-pitch systems. Beyond the Gunks, they also lead rock and ice climbing adventures in the Catskills and Adirondacks.
