While flowers are blooming and buds are popping on trees, a Pennsylvania ski resort is still making snow.
That’s right: Pennsylvania.
While it’s not unusual for some ski resorts in northern New England to still fire up the guns in April, it’s virtually unheard of in Pennsylvania.
But last night (April 20!), Pennsylvania’s Camelback Mountain turned the snow guns back on.

“Yes, it might sound a little crazy. And yes … we probably are,” said Camelback GM Jason Bays in a social media post.
However, Bays said the resort is committed to having the longest season in Pennsylvania.

They are already in the middle of a record April. The resort in the Poconos is more than 11 days past the longest operating season since Camelback opened in 1963, and they are still skiing with up to 10 feet of base on Cliffhanger, spring laps rolling, and a terrain park set up at the bottom.
“Our team and I have been meeting guests from as far south as Nashville and as far west as Cleveland to experience what’s happening here,” said Bays. “We’re not closing the season. We’re redefining it.”
