New York State Police say they found the body of missing hiker Alex Stevens this morning near Wallface Mountain in the Adirondacks.

Police said his body was found near Wallface Pond. An autopsy is expected to be completed tomorrow.

Police said people who spoke to Stevens near the trailhead on September 2 said he seemed unprepared for a long hike. He was reportedly wearing open-toed sandals and carrying a small backpack. He was also reportedly starting unusually late in the day.
