The Mount Washington Avalanche Center reports Tuckerman Ravine and Huntington Ravine currently have considerable avalanche danger.
According to the recent report, natural avalanches are possible and human-triggered avalanches are likely. Wind slabs remaining from this week are the main avalanche problem. And with today’s wind speeds being the highest since last weekend, new dense wind slabs on top of areas of lighter dense snow increases the potential of avalanches.
The center recommends that visitors in the area carefully evaluate the snowpack, use caution when finding a route, and be conservative in making decisions.
