In 1915, a group of hikers found themselves trapped on Mount Washington when a hurricane hit New Hampshire.
Long before cell phones and high-tech weather forecasts, the small group of men and women hiking that day on Mount Washington had no idea a hurricane was approaching. Battered by high winds and blinding snow, they were stranded at the newly-opened Lake of the Clouds hut for several days in bitterly cold conditions with very little food and no way to contact the outside world for help.
Now, the granddaughter of one of the women involved in the ordeal is telling their story.
