A Canadian company may be looking to move tar sands oil through New England, a thought that has environmental advocates concerned it could threaten the region’s water and wildlife.

According to an article on PublicNewsService.org, the Canadian company Enbridge recently announced it wants to reverse its pipeline eastward, which could bring tar sands oil through Ontario, Quebec and New England.

But the idea has some people concerned. Wildlife biologist Eric Orff says the abrasive form of crude would threaten the 62-year-old pipeline. And a National Wildlife Federation report says a tar sands spill could contaminate water and harm wildlife in the region. (READ MORE)
