Rhode Island’s Yawgoo Valley Just Got 30+ Inches

It’s been a banner year for skiing and riding throughout much of the Northeast. Now, Rhode Island is joining in on the fun.

The Ocean State’s only ski area, Yawgoo Valley Ski Area, just got more than 30 inches of snow from yesterday’s powerful blizzard.

The massive storm dropped snow throughout much of the Northeast, but it was southeastern New England that was hit the hardest. That’s bad news if you’re shoveling, but good news if you’re a Rhode Island skier.

The ski area will be closed Tuesday, but plans to open Wednesday, February 25 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Yawgoo is Rhode Island’s only surviving ski area. Located just south of Providence in Exeter, Rhode Island, it has 12 trails for skiing and riding and also offers snowtubing. It has an elevation of 310 feet.
