More than 150 skiers and snowboarders had to be rescued from a stuck chairlift at Vermont’s Stowe Mountain Resort on Sunday.

According to an article on MyChamplainValley.com, Stowe officials said an electrical problem caused the resort’s Lookout Double lift to stop operating around 10:30 a.m.

Some skiers and riders were stuck on the lift for hours, and some reportedly jumped from chairs to the ground. Everyone was evacuated from the lift by 1 p.m.
